Cultivating Faith and Early Learning in a Nurturing Environment
At Central Christian Academy Preschool in Wendell, NC, we believe that early childhood education is a sacred partnership between the classroom and a Godly, Christian home. As a ministry of Central Church, our purpose is to provide a safe, happy, and nurturing environment where your child can learn about Jesus and His love while building strong spiritual and academic foundations.
Our Christ-centered educational experience is intentionally designed to cultivate the whole child—intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Guided by a biblical model of education, our dedicated faculty weave faith, respect, and love into everyday learning experiences. Through developmentally appropriate hands-on curriculum, structured play, and positive role modeling, we ensure that every infant, toddler, and young learner can thrive at their own pace and experience real success.

Program Structure
Full-time care designed to balance teacher-directed instruction with child-initiated discovery, creative arts, outdoor play, and daily rest time.
Our educational methodology blends structural academic prerequisites with spiritual enrichment, creating a balanced lifecycle of development for young minds.
- Christ-Centered Integration: We view all knowledge through a biblical lens. Scriptural principles, simple prayers, and worship songs are naturally woven into daily activities to teach children about God's love and kindness.
- Developmentally Appropriate Practice:
Children learn best by doing. Our classrooms utilize research-backed, hands-on early childhood tools that focus on age-appropriate phonics, basic math concepts, sensory discovery, and motor skills
- The Gift of Guided Play:
Play is a child’s natural work. We balance structured academic intervals with generous blocks of imaginative and outdoor play, allowing children to build problem-solving skills, physical coordination, and social confidence.
- Active Family Partnership Education succeeds when home and school align. We maintain open communication and clear shared standards, actively inviting parents into their child's early developmental milestones.

In addition to our daily physical activities, we are proud to offer specialized, fee-based enrichment programs right here on campus. Parents can choose to sign their children up for optional afternoon programs like Pre-Dance/Tumbling or Soccer Shots. CURRICULUM
Curriculum & Enrichment Programs
Our Preschool teachers use a research-based curriculum from Abeka, which has been proven throughout the years to lay the fundamental skills needed to read and write while effectively building a solid foundation in Christ. Furthermore, the Abeka curriculum prepares children adequately for kindergarten and a lifetime of successful learning experiences.

Phonics & Early Literacy
Introduction to letter recognition, letter sounds, phonemic awareness, and language development to spark a lifelong love for reading.
Early Mathematical Concepts
Hands-on counting, shape recognition, patterns, sorting, and introductory spatial logic through physical manipulatives.
Spiritual Enrichment & Bible
Age-appropriate daily devotionals, Bible stories, memorizing foundational scripture, and weekly chapel moments designed to guide young hearts toward Jesus.
Sensory Exploration & Creativity
Weekly tactile projects, painting, fine motor crafting, and musical play that foster individual self-expression and motor control.
Gross Motor Enrichment
:Daily structured outdoor playtime on our secure, age-appropriate playground equipment to cultivate strong physical fitness and team coordination.
Art & Music Programs
Through these classes we believe in providing a well-rounded education that includes opportunities for students to explore their creative side. That’s why we offer art and music curriculum for all age students. Through these classes, we invite our students to study and respond to God’s creation through artistic expression, allowing our students to use their talents to glorify God.
Spanish Curriculum
Our Spanish curriculum allows children to become familiar with the basics in Spanish. Learning to communicate in another mode helps a child learn to communicate in their own language more fully. We recognize the importance of being fluent in multiple languages, which is why we offer Spanish classes in preK at our preschool and elementary school.
Soccer Shots Elective (fee-based)
Beyond our core academics, students can stay active and build valuable life skills through engaging fitness programs, including weekly onsite soccer lessons with Soccer Shots. This popular elective program offers a seamless, convenient way for children to exercise, socialize, and have fun right on campus.
Pre-Ballet & Tumbling Program (fee-based)
We are committed to helping our students grow in body, mind, and spirit. Pre-Ballet and Tumbling classes are offered through Expressions of Worship Dance Studio in Wendell, as an addition to our regular curriculum. This optional extra offering encourages students to express themselves and also develops their physical abilities. Classes available for three and four year olds for an additional fee.
Bible & Spiritual Formation
Students are equipped to understand, internalize, and apply the Bible personally in their daily lives. Building on foundations started in our preschool, our intentional approach prepares elementary students to confidently share the Gospel, articulate their faith, and lead with integrity. Additionally, Chapel is integrated into our weekly schedule and curriculum that all of our students have the opportunity to participate in all together once a week.
Reading, Writing & Literacy
CCA strategically focuses on grammar, structured spelling, advanced vocabulary expansion, classic literature, critical thinking, and disciplined writing instruction. Students analyze various literary genres to build and empower well-read Christian leaders, effective writers, and influential speakers.
English & Literature
We want to provide students with a solid foundation of varied literature and writings, and teach them to evaluate these writings for literary excellence as well as biblical truth. By allowing students to examine various aspects of our history and culture through literature, in the light of God’s truth and under the guidance of a Christian teacher, they will have the opportunity to further develop a Christian worldview.
Science
Life sciences will focus on physiology and functions of living things, interrelationships of all organisms, and man’s place within God’s scheme of creation taught from a creationist’s viewpoint. The course of study will expose students to various theories related to the origin of life while teaching students to evaluate these theories for scientific facts as well as biblical truth.
Math
CCA will foster students and help them to develop a deep mathematical knowledge with logical reasoning. We believe this will allow students to solve real life problems at the highest level. Our small class sizes allow for each student to be challenged at their individual level. Planning, instruction, and assessment are all implemented through the lens of a biblical worldview.
Social Studies & History
CCA will provide a Christian perspective on world events, past and present, with an emphasis on the role of Christians in the future. Beginning in middle school, we will teach United States history, laying a solid foundation of the values and principles for which our nation was founded. In high school, we will teach World History, American History, Government, Politics, and Economics through the lens of a biblical worldview. Through all levels, students will learn the importance of positive citizenship, humility, and compassion. Our students graduate knowing the story of mankind, with a desire to serve and advance the Kingdom of God.
Physical Education
From the youngest age, students develop a foundation that teaches basic motor skills. Slowly, as students develop physically and mentally, we add challenging activities giving them the opportunity to explore and use their imagination. We promote physical activities that use creative thinking skills that help build the qualities needed for traditional and lifelong sports. At CCA we believe that a strong PE program helps students gain positive attributes, which in return will build confidence to serve and lead a healthy lifelong lifestyle focused on Jesus Christ.

Program Overview
OPERATIONAL PRACTICES
Safe, Healthy, and Supportive Early Childcare
On-Site Kitchen & Nutrition Program
Proper physical development requires wholesome fuel. CCA Preschool is proud to feature a fully licensed, professional on-site kitchen. Rather than relying on packed foods or highly processed catering, our internal kitchen prepares well-balanced mid-morning snacks, wholesome family-style lunches, and mid-afternoon snacks fresh daily. Nutrition is fully included within your standard tuition. We are highly equipped to safely accommodate strict dietary medical restrictions and physician-mandated food allergies, and we firmly support breastfeeding mothers.
Infant Safe Sleep & Care Practices
For our littlest learners (starting at six weeks old), safety remains our absolute paramount priority. Our specialized infant nurseries strictly implement and enforce the North Carolina Infant/Toddler Safe Sleep Policy. Every infant is exclusively placed flat on their back to sleep on a firm, bare, state-certified mattress. In compliance with strict health mandates, no loose toys, heavy blankets, or swaddles are permitted in cribs, ensuring total peace of mind for parents while transitioning into professional childcare.
Potty Training Partnership
Navigating the transition from diapers to the restroom can be challenging. We view potty training as a collaborative developmental journey. Our patient faculty partner directly alongside families when a child demonstrates developmental readiness. We provide an encouraging, high-routine bathroom schedule that mirrors home routines. Please note that independent potty training is a required developmental prerequisite before children can graduate into our 3-year-old classroom suites.

What is the minimum age requirement to attend CCA Preschool in Wendell?
Our preschool program welcomes children starting as early as six weeks old up through pre-kindergarten ages. We provide tailored, age-appropriate care and early learning environments for infants, toddlers, and young children.
What are the operation hours for the preschool, and what are the expectations for drop-off and pickup?
Our preschool program is designed to provide a structured, nurturing, and safe environment throughout the day:
- Closing Time: Children must be picked up by 6:00 PM each day. A late pickup fee of $2.00 per minute, per child, is automatically applied after the scheduled closing time.
- Drop-Off Recommendations: While there is no formal cutoff time for morning drop-off, we strongly request that your child arrives by 9:00 AM. This ensures they are present for the core instructional portions of the day, including Biblical and academic lessons, and helps our staff plan accordingly.
- Nap Time Adjustments: We ask that parents avoid dropping off or picking up their children during our designated nap time (12:00 PM – 2:30 PM). Transitions during these hours are highly disruptive to the rest of the classroom and can be difficult for your child. Late Arrival Adjustments: If you must drop your child off after 9:00 AM due to an appointment or special circumstance, please call the center ahead of time so our kitchen staff can accurately prepare their lunch.
