Health, Safety, & Medical Action Plans
Mandatory Sick Policy
To prevent the spread of illness among children and faculty, children must remain at home if they display any signs of contagious symptoms. Children must be completely symptom-free for a full 24 hours (without the aid of fever-reducing medication) before returning to campus.
- Fever Policy: Any child with a temperature of 100.4°F or higher will be isolated, and parents will be contacted for immediate pickup. The child may not return the next calendar day.
- Contagious Illness Clearance: Diagnoses of strep throat, pink eye (conjunctivitis), unexplained rashes, or Covid-19 require a formal signed pediatrician’s note clearing the child for re-admittance into a group care environment.
Medical and Allergy Forms
If your child requires emergency medication administration on campus (such as an EpiPen, inhaler, or specific maintenance medications), a physician-signed action plan must be on file in the director's office before their first day.
Health/medical disclosures are to be completed digitally as part of the initial onboarding/enrollment portal directly through FACTS.
Inclement Weather
In cases of severe weather, CCA Preschool generally aligns with local safety closures. Families will be notified of delayed openings or early closures via three simultaneous streams:
- Immediate Procare app push notifications
- An all-parent email blast
- Active tracking on WRAL News

The Procare Mobile App
Parents are able to communicate with teachers and staff via the Procare Mobile App.
FACTS Family Portal
Weekly preschool tuition is due every Monday. Payments are process digitally through our FACTS Family Portal. Please maintain updated billing accounts to prevent late payment penalties.
SUPPLY GUIDELINES
Equipping Your Child for a Successful Day
Following a predictable, structured layout helps children build confidence. Ensure your child has the approved supplies packed and labeled before dropping off.
Infant Nurseries
(6 Weeks – 12 Months)
Parents must supply labeled plastic bottles (pre-mixed with formula or breastmilk), all infant baby foods, a continuous supply of diapers, alcohol-free wipes, and state-certified, bare sleep sacks. Note: Loose blankets are prohibited under safe sleep rules.
Toddler & Two-Year-Old Suites
Please pack at least three full changes of seasonal clothing (including socks and underwear), a small blanket for cots, and diapering or training pants supplies.
Preschool & Pre-K Academic Prep
((Ages 3-4)
Students will need a small backpack, a labeled spill-proof water bottle, and a thin nap mat or blanket for rest time.

Birthday & Celebration Guidelines
We absolutely love celebrating our young learners! To keep everyone safe and true to our school's mission, we just ask that all of our gatherings align with current health guidelines and our core values.
Classroom Birthday Recognition
Parents are welcome to coordinate with teachers to share a special birthday treat or celebration. However, due to severe, life-threatening food allergies and strict licensing controls, all outside food treats (including homemade cupcakes or bakery items) are prohibited inside the classrooms. Teachers will ensure birthdays are recognized joyfully without food risks. Additionally, helium balloons are prohibited inside our facilities by state safety guidelines.
Preschool Holiday Guidelines
Our calendar highlights seasonal celebrations including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. In keeping with the spiritual integration models of Central Christian Academy, we focus purely on the biblical truths of these holidays. We politely remind families that Halloween themes, spooky imagery, and costumes are discouraged at preschool.
CURRICULUM
Academic Disciplines & Courses of Study
At Central Christian Academy, we believe in providing a strong foundation in academics for our young students. Our curriculum is designed to foster a love for learning and curiosity in our students. We offer classes in various subjects such as Social Studies, Science, Math, Literature Arts, Art and Physical Education, all taught with a Christian worldview. Our goal is to prepare our students to become responsible and knowledgeable citizens who will contribute positively to their communities in the future. The smaller details of our goal can be seen in the profile of a CCA graduate.
Bible & Spiritual Formation
Students are equipped to understand, internalize, and apply the Bible personally in their daily lives. Building on foundations started in our preschool, our intentional approach prepares elementary students to confidently share the Gospel, articulate their faith, and lead with moral integrity. Chapel is integrated into our weekly schedule and curriculum that all of our students have the opportunity to participate in all together once a week.
Reading & Writing
CCA strategically focuses on grammar, spelling, vocabulary, literature, critical thinking, and writing instruction. Students are exposed to various genres of literature. Reading is essential and students have reading assignments, research projects, writing topics, and class discussions. Our goal is to build and empower well-read Christian leaders, who are effective writers and influential speakers that are motivated by a biblical worldview.
English & Literature
We want to provide students with a solid foundation of varied literature and writings, and teach them to evaluate these writings for literary excellence as well as biblical truth. By allowing students to examine various aspects of our history and culture through literature, in the light of God’s truth and under the guidance of a Christian teacher, they will have the opportunity to further develop a Christian worldview.
Life Sciences
Life sciences will focus on physiology and functions of living things, interrelationships of all organisms, and man’s place within God’s scheme of creation taught from a creationist’s viewpoint. The course of study will expose students to various theories related to the origin of life while teaching students to evaluate these theories for scientific facts as well as biblical truth.
Mathematics
CCA will foster students and help them to develop a deep mathematical knowledge with logical reasoning. We believe this will allow students to solve real life problems at the highest level. Our small class sizes allow for each student to be challenged at their individual level. Planning, instruction, and assessment are all implemented through the lens of a biblical worldview.
Social Studies & History
CCA will provide a Christian perspective on world events, past and present, with an emphasis on the role of Christians in the future. Beginning in middle school, we will teach United States history, laying a solid foundation of the values and principles for which our nation was founded. In high school, we will teach World History, American History, Government, Politics, and Economics through the lens of a biblical worldview. Through all levels, students will learn the importance of positive citizenship, humility, and compassion. Our students graduate knowing the story of mankind, with a desire to serve and advance the Kingdom of God.
Physical Education
From the youngest age, students develop a foundation that teaches basic motor skills. Slowly, as students develop physically and mentally, we add challenging activities giving them the opportunity to explore and use their imagination. We promote physical activities that use creative thinking skills that help build the qualities needed for traditional and lifelong sports. At CCA we believe that a strong PE program helps students gain positive attributes, which in return will build confidence to serve and lead a healthy lifelong lifestyle focused on Jesus Christ.
Art & Music
General art and music classes teach students the fundamentals and the basics. At least once a week CCA students’ worship in song in our Chapel.
Spanish
Spanish is the central foreign language taught in all grades starting with kindergarten. Our teachers offer engaging and challenging activities so that our students gain a love of learning Spanish through listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students learn Spanish once a week.
Technology
There is a lot of discussion about Technology in classrooms. Technology is a valuable tool and a staple in the educational world, and we are focused on preparing students for advanced education. We are fortunate to have interactive smartboards in every elementary classroom.

Preschool is an active, tactile learning experience. Children should be dressed in comfortable, washable play clothes that allow them to participate in outdoor gross motor activities and painting without worry.
Footwear Policy: To ensure playground safety and prevent severe tripping hazards,
all children must wear enclosed tennis shoes with socks daily. Flip-flops, open-toed sandals, and loose slip-on shoes are strictly prohibited. Crocs are strongly discouraged for safety reasons.
The "Toys From Home" Policy
To preserve classroom focus and prevent personal items from being broken or lost,
personal toys, electronic devices, and costumes must remain at home or in the car. Exceptions are only granted on explicitly designated classroom "Show-and-Tell" days arranged by your child’s teacher, during which items must be labeled clearly.

A member of our team will meet with your family on our campus and provide a free 30 minute assessment to help us best meet your child's individual needs. You will have the opportunity to tour the acadmey and receive answers to any questions you may have.
STEP 2
Apply Online
After your tour and assessment, you will receive an admissions decision within three days. Once you have received your offer, you will then apply online through our FACTS Family Portal and pay your application fee.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I check out my preschooler at the same time as my K-6 Academy student?
To ensure student safety and smooth carpool flows, our preschool sign-in and sign-out loops operate completely independently from the elementary academy loops. If you have children in both programs, please review the designated pick-up windows for each tier inside your respective parent handbooks
Who oversees the preschool program, and how does it connect to the K-6 Academy?
The Preschool program operates under its own dedicated, specialized Early Childhood Director and administrative team. This structural separation ensures that our birth-to-4-years licensing compliance, infant safe sleep regulations, and daily nursery operations remain completely isolated and expertly managed, while still sharing the overarching spiritual covering of Central Church.
How is potty training handled at Central Christian Academy Preschool?
We view potty training as a collaborative developmental milestone. Our patient teachers partner alongside families when a child demonstrates true cognitive and physical readiness. We implement structured, frequent restroom routines that mirror your home schedules. Please note that independent potty training is a required developmental prerequisite before a child can graduate into our 3-year-old classroom suites.
Are the preschool lunch menus and closures identical to the K-6 Academy?
No. Because our preschool accommodates children as young as six weeks old, our nutritional needs, licensing mandates, and operating calendars are distinct. The preschool operates full-year care (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM) and utilizes an on-site kitchen specializing in early childhood dietary guidelines, independent of the elementary hot lunch menus.
